Xiaomi & Huawei stores will be closed from January 29 to February 3, 2020 due to Coronavirus

As the coronavirus epidemic escalates in China during this Chinese New Year holiday period and the WHO has determined that the coronavirus is now a "global risk", many local smartphone companies such as Xiaomi and Huawei have announced measures to help the government deal with the new virus.

The Xiaomi company announced that it will close its physical stores scattered in different cities of China from January 29 to Monday, February 3 inclusive.
Xiaomi says that this measure is necessary to help the work of prevention, control of the epidemic in China and that it is therefore best to do everything possible to avoid direct contact with the infected. Latest reports indicate that the virus can infect people before symptoms appear.

According to official reports, nearly 2,800 cases have already been confirmed to date (January 29, 2020) across China. The government has also placed 15 cities totaling a population of more than 57 million people in total or partial quarantine. Wuhan was effectively quarantined, with major flights and long-distance transportation systems suspended indefinitely. Some cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the United States, Thailand and Japan. The new epidemic appeared just days before the Chinese New Year, which forced the country to suspend the festivities to prevent a further spread of the virus.
